From this month, a new official rule from the Camogie Association came into effect – and it’s something all players, parents, and club supporters need to be aware of.
All team playing gear must now feature the official Camogie Association crest on both the jersey and the shorts or skorts, placed on the same side at the front. This means that every piece of match-day kit must now visibly include this crest to meet the association’s uniform standards.
Following the new rule, club secretary Joe Dervan has asked manufacturer O’Neills to remove items that do not meet these new requirements from our online shop.
Gear Update: Items Removed from Portumna Camogie Club Shop
In accordance with this new regulation, Portumna Camogie Club has requested the removal of two items from our online club shop:
1. Portumna Camogie Club Mourne Shorts
2. Mourne Shorts Royal/Amber Shorts
These items do not meet the new crest placement requirements and are no longer approved for match use.
What’s Next?
We’re already working with O’Neills to create a new, compliant shorts design that includes the official camogie crest in the correct location. Once finalised, the new gear will be added to our shop so that all club members can order match-ready kit that meets the latest standards.

We’d like to just reiterate that even though shorts may be the club colours and have the club crest on them, if they do not display the Camogie Association crest on the front, players will not be allowed to play in official games under the new rule,” said Club Chairperson Shane Madden.
